8th Grade STEM Lab Pitch Day

On the afternoon of March 29th, eighth-grade students presented their ideas and visions for the STEM Lab to a board of school administration and faculty including ICSJ principal, Maria Hill. Two eighth-grade teams presented proposals (representing sections 8A and 8B). Prior to the presentation, each class split into four committees: finance, design, pitch/project management, and media.

The 8B design group proposed incorporating multiple innovative STEM modules including a slate drawing board, a whiteboard/idea board, bean bag chairs, a charging station, LEGO Mindstorms, snap circuits and a news corner.

8A focused on developing the look and layout of the space, proposing innovative storage solutions and furniture that enables flexible seating.

Each class had a session for questions and comments at the end of their presentation and the school faculty offered helpful suggestions, input, and concerns. Overall, the proposals were successful for both classes. Stay tuned for more updates!
