Our Educators

Immaculate Conception–St. Joseph School is dedicated to nurturing each student’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, and civic potential. In our small school community in the heart of a great big city, we live out our identity as a true “family of families.” Every child is known, valued, and guided toward their fullest development.

A Strong Academic Foundation

From Junior Kindergarten (3–5 year olds) through 3rd grade, we prioritize individualized attention by placing two certified teachers in every classroom. This co-teaching model ensures personalized instruction and meaningful support for every learner.

In Grades 4–5, each classroom is led by a certified teacher alongside a dedicated differentiation specialist, allowing for targeted instruction that meets a range of learning needs.

In Grades 6–8, students benefit from a departmentalized model, learning from teachers who specialize in specific subject areas and bring depth and expertise to their instruction.

Comprehensive Student Support

Beyond core academics, ICSJ offers a wide range of enrichment and support services. Our faculty includes:

  • Spanish teachers

  • Physical education teachers

  • A technology integration specialist

  • Library, art, music, and STEM teachers
  • A full-time school nurse

Students and teachers are further supported by learning specialists, a literacy specialist, school counselors, and an Athletic Director, ensuring that academic, social-emotional, and physical growth is fully supported.

A Highly Qualified and Faith-Filled Team

Our staff of 60 dedicated professionals is led by our Co-Principals, two Assistant Principals, and our Pastor. More than 70% of our faculty hold or are pursuing advanced degrees, and our administrative team holds Master’s Degrees in education along with Illinois administrative certification.

A Commitment to Professional Excellence

ICSJ is deeply committed to fostering an authentic Professional Learning Community (PLC). Faculty meet twice monthly to collaborate, analyze student progress, share best practices, and engage in ongoing professional development. This structured collaboration ensures our teachers remain reflective practitioners who continuously refine their craft to meet the needs of every learner.

A Culture of Connection

At ICSJ, community extends beyond the classroom. Our social committee, faith committee, and community-building initiatives strengthen relationships among students, faculty, and families. Through shared experiences and meaningful traditions, we cultivate a welcoming environment where connection, collaboration, and joy are always prioritized. Together, our strong academic program, dedicated faculty, and vibrant school culture create a dynamic environment where students grow in faith, knowledge, leadership, and service.
