At ICSJ, students enjoy a wealth of enrichment opportunities designed to spark creativity, ignite curiosity, and foster personal growth. Some opportunities are reserved for the older kids and are offered as year-round commitments, while some are available to K-8th grade students on a rolling basis throughout the year. PreK students are offered after school classes beginning in the spring, once they are very comfortable and have the endurance to stay for organized classes after school. 

SEASONAL AFTER SCHOOL "ENRICHMENT" CLASSES
After school enrichment classes are offered through three seasonal 8-week sessions. Through a dynamic mix of ICSJ teaching staff and partnerships with leading organizations, students can explore diverse interests and develop new skills in weekly, one hour classes from 3:15-4:15. Parents peruse and choose what may interest their kids. Sign up is through through an online portal and the costs range, depending on who is teaching the class, and what materials may be needed.  Past offerings have included Running Club, Service in Action, Cooking, Chess Academy, STEAM workshops, Stages Chicago theater programs, Young Rembrandts art classes, Guitar, Ukulele, Lego Robotics, and much more!  

YEAR-ROUND CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

Beyond enrichment classes, ICSJ provides a vibrant array of clubs and Teams that promote social development, leadership, and community engagement. These activities are thoughtfully designed to enrich student life and cultivate the next generation of Catholic leaders with a deep commitment to their social mission within our urban community.

• Dolphin News Network aka. "DNN" (3rd-8th): Present the school's morning news, on or behind the camera.
• Choir (1st-3rd and 4th-8th): Share the joy of music and lead worship through song.
• Student Government (4th-8th): Develop leadership skills and represent peers.
• Yearbook Club (4th-8th): Capture and preserve school memories.
• Green Team for the Environment (4th-8th): Advocate for sustainability and stewardship.
• School Musical (4th-8th): Shine on stage and behind the scenes.
• Quiz Bowl (6th-8th): Showcase knowledge and team spirit in academic competitions.
